The European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT), Europe´s leading supplier of intelligent value-added services, is one of the most rapidly expanding technology companies in Germany. This was the finding of the global professional services organization Deloitte & Touche in its latest "Technology Fast 50" list, published in the current issue of German business magazine Capital (# 22/2004). The main evaluation criterion used by Deloitte & Touche was the cumulative growth in turnover over the last five business years (1999 to 2003) - ECT increased its revenue by 121 percent during this period and achieved an operating result of more than five million euros in fiscal 2003 (before tax and reserves). ECT´s CEO and co-founder, Dr. Marshall E. Kavesh, regards this as confirmation that the path he and his fellow partners - Dr. Hans Huber and Walter Rott - chose to follow in 1998 was the right one: "When we started up ECT in 1998, we were certain that intelligent value-added services would considerably change the shape of telecoms, and that meant that our company had a bright future ahead of it. But even so, we never expected our new company to grow so quickly - now we are supplying telecoms solutions to well-known carriers throughout Europe, such as Vodafone, Tele2, BT Global Services, Omnitel, the TeliaSonera Group and the Deutsche Telekom Group."

Background information on the "Technology Fast 50"

The very first Technology Fast 50 was set up in 1995 in the USA. Since then, the programme has been continually expanded in response to public interest and the substantial number of participating companies. It is currently held in 11 countries around the world. In addition to national Technology Fast 50 lists, regional Technology Fast 500 programmes have been staged since 1997. The regional Technology Fast 500 has the objective of awarding prizes to the 500 fastest-growing companies in a specific geographical region (North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific). In the USA and other countries, Technology Fast 50 or Fast 500 awards speak for the quality of the company and have also become a recognised competitive factor influencing corporate success. As a result of including the German Technology Fast 50 in the European Technology Fast 500, German award winners now have the opportunity to step up onto the winner´s podium as one of the most successful technology companies in Europe.
